black for spring.

Hello, it's me!

It's been quite a while since my last outfit post.. sorry about that. I suppose I've been feeling a little uninspired by my clothes, and the days that I have put effort into what I wear, I haven't taken photos other than a mirror selfie for Instagram stories.

3 delicious things to make in a blender.

Blenders are versatile little things, aren't they? You can make sauces, soups, smoothies, and other things which don't begin with an S too.

Here are my favourite recipes made in this Panasonic blender *

my experience with the microdermabrasion facial and 20% off your first treatment!

I've never really been particularly happy with my skin - it's uneven, there's a little scarring, large pores, oily.. the list goes on - but generally, I just chuck some make up on and ignore it, never really getting to the route of the problem.

The end of my 20s is looming, and it's starting to sink in that yup, this is the only body you get, and yup, this is the only skin you get, so I should really start to care for it more and make the absolute best of what I've got.

breakfast at pinkmans.

Pinkmans Bakery usually catches my attention with their sour-dough-nuts - the roundest of all time, with different flavour combinations monthly. As soon as you walk in, you're met with a counter crammed full of the most delicious looking bakes.. my mouth is watering writing this.

We tried to go for breakfast a while back, but got there a little too late. This time around, we were there in good time, and it was SO worth getting up a little earlier for.

taking time.

I write frequently about the importance of giving yourself time, being kind to yourself, and finding space. It really is integral to enjoying and appreciating your life.

We are always so eager to rush into things, have everything we want right away, the instant gratification.

But there is something incredibly satisfying about easing in slowly and cautiously, putting a lot of work and love into something, and reaping great rewards further down the line.

This goes for relationships as well as work and projects.

why it's cool to care.

With it being Valentine's Day and all, I thought it would be an appropriate day to share my recent thoughts on why it's good to show that you care. Not just about your significant other or your mum, but about everything.

the best veggie chilli.

It's cold. It's winter. It's still cold. And it's miserable.

What you need is a nice big bowl full of something tasty and warming - both to the belly and the heart.

This is my favourite go-to chilli recipe - and the most fun part comes with the accompaniments!

how to get motivated.

Photos: Lauren Jayne Hall. Location: The Forge.

There's something about this time of year which makes productivity drop - at least around here. Lately I've been struggling a little with motivation, but I feel like I'm coming out of the other side.

#emojihighlights with nowtv & the NTAs.

NowTV are the lead sponsors of this year's National Television Awards, and to celebrate that, they're getting me involved with their #EmojiHighlights campaign! They've challenged me to review a few of my favourite nominated TV shows, but there's a catch..

If you're looking for a wearable device that's attractive, as well as having the capacity to encourage you to be more active and track your sleep, then the Misfit Ray* might be for you. But can you really have wearable technology that does it all and looks good too?

less than.

black wool raw edge coat cos minimal black monochrome fashion blog blogger outfit

Maybe it's because it's that time of year that I seem to be constantly ill. The post-Christmas slump - the hangover from eating too much of the wrong things, missing the shiny lights and smiling faces. Maybe it's just January - I usually struggle during these first months of the year, and it's been so cold.

December was a really busy month - the panic-buying of gifts, meeting friends for drinks, dinners, parties - I felt like I barely had time to myself. True to form, I got ill when I stopped for Christmas. Haven't felt quite right since.

What better way to start the new year off than with a little travel inspiration?! A few months back, I spent a few days in super cool Brooklyn, and I thought I'd share my favourite spots to eat & shop, and the incredible apartment I stayed in!

This is the final city guide from my travels back in September. You can see the others here: Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, Manhattan

hello, 2017.

Happy New Year!

I spent last night at home, and used the last hour of 2016 to reflect on the past year's resolutions and think about what I would like to happen over the next 365 days.
