to the sea, the sea of love.

This post is looooong overdue! Almost two months ago, the lovely Rhiannon from Vintage Style Me sent me an amazing package.

Inside was the dreamiest 1960s handmade dress, covered in nautical imagery and constellations. The little collar, turned up sleeves and purple buttons caused me to fall in love even deeper. The one and only downside to this dress is that it's VERY short, so it is not to be worn without tights, or on a day that I might be bending over a lot!

Rhiannon also very kindly send me a gorgeous headscarf (you might've seen me wearing it a couple of times!) and a pretty bow made out of cat fabric, which I wore on my birthday! (I also have it as my twitter/facebook picture, I love it that much!)

There are so many treasures to be found in the shop, and I have a lovely 20% discount code for you guys, just enter PROMO12 at the checkout at Vintage Style Me!

I've seen a lot of comments about beauty box blog posts recently, and how they're a waste of time as everyone posts the same things. To be honest, I agree to some degree - I'll usually only read one or two blog posts about any one box, by people who's opinions I trust. I rarely venture away from my regular beauty brands, so I find boxes like this a fun way to discover new things.

All the samples in this month's GlossyBox were quite small, but overall pretty good. Here's what I thought...

This brush is pretty small, so good for slipping in your make up bag. I've used it every day since I got it. It's soft, but firm (if that makes sense?!) and a perfectly good brush. There's not much more I can say about it!

These perfumes were all a bit heavy for me. I'm very particular about my scents - I've mentioned before that I prefer light, fruity fragrances. None of these suit me, but the packaging, colours etc are very pleasing to my eye!

This was too dark for my skin really, and I found that because it's a loose powder, I always ended up with far too much on my brush. I ended up looking like I'd been rolling around in mud. Not a great look! I'm sure it'd look lovely on someone more tanned than me!

I love this mascara and wish it was a full size! This tiny little tube came with a lovely chunky brush, which seperates your lashes beautifully. I needed a couple of coats, but I was left with full, flirty lashes. Perfect! I'm not sure I'd spend £16.90 to get the full size version though.

I've used Vichy products before, and think they're great. They give really good coverage, but I can find that with cream stick foundations, my skin can get quite greasy and shiny. I used this while I had a bit of a cold, so I had blotchy skin and a red nose, but this hid that beautifully! My skin was also quite dry though, and this foundation did highlight that.

What did you think of this month's GlossyBox?

cosy on up.

There are four beautiful cushions available in the Being Little Shop right now! It was difficult for me to actually decide to part with these - as soon as I made them last week, I wanted to keep them all! I love having lots of cushions on my bed, it makes it so cosy and comfy!

These cushions are a mix of beautiful vintage and modern fabrics, with contrasting backs! They're all different, and all so lovely. Go snap one up for yourself!

HOME.

I mentioned the other day that I'd been volunteering at the weekend. Well, this is where I was - one of my most favourite places in the world, Dartington Hall, has been holding its very own little music festival for the past few years, called HOME

I was a volunteer steward, which mostly involved checking wristbands and clickering people in. But what was great was that I also got to watch a few bands, including the wonderful Matthew & Me who used to study at Dartington. They really are homegrown talent, and my little gem of the weekend. Scroll down to the bottom to see them in action, playing my current favourite song.

(Video below not by me, and not filmed at HOME festival!)

to your heart's content.

My playsuit collection seems to be growing at an alarming rate.. they're just so easy to chuck on and run around in for the day, without the worry that a gust of wind will surprise everyone with a view of your pants.

This particular one from AX Paris is fast becoming a favourite, the gorgeous floral print and decent length mean that it's perfect to wear bare-legged on a summery day (if we ever have another one of those..) or dressed up for a night out, which is how I've styled it here! Ready to rock out to my heart's content!

It's also that time of the month again where I hassle you all to advertise on my blog! Read on for more information...

I need to take new photos for this, now that I have pink hair!

I be offer three different packages - small ad, large ad, and a blog post feature/giveaway. Advertising begins on the 1st of each month, and payment is required at least one day beforehand.

More info and statistics and stuff can be found here!

If you feel your blog or company would benefit from advertising on Being Little, please email me at beinglittle@hotmail.co.uk for rates and negotiation. If you wish to purchase advertising space for more than one month, I'd be happy to cut a deal with you!

Please remember, I am only happy to advertise your blog or company if I think it fits in with the feel of my blog.

acutely fierce.

I've had quite a busy weekend of volunteering, but more about that another day. On my way home on Saturday, I stopped off at Sainsbury's to get some food, and obviously had to have a look around the clothing section. I didn't find anything good in the ladies section, but I DID find this amazing top in the kids section! So apparently, I'm the size of a 12 year old..

As soon as I saw it, I imagined a bunch of outfits that it would work perfectly in. It reminded me of the 60s, so today I styled it simply with dark colours and a beehive. I edged it up a bit with some fierce rings, and my (getting-a-bit-scruffy) Vans.

Do you ever stray away from the ladies section in clothes shops?

• TOP - SAINSBURYS • SKIRT - H&M • SHOES - VANS • SPIKED RING - ROCK 'N' ROSE • TEETH RING - GALIBARDY •

Also, check out this little interview I did on Diary Of A Small Girl! :)

I've been thinking recently about making a zine/book to remind myself of things that can cheer me up when I'm feeling blue. I also feel disgusting today, as I've got a horrible cold, so it's been nice looking through photos of what I've been doing recently, and thinking of things that make me happy...

What makes you happy? What brings you out of a funk?

next up.

It's a little overdue, but a few weeks ago, I went up to Somerset House in London to view the Next AW12 collection. At the time, we were going through a heatwave and it seemed strange to be looking at coats and boots.. but now that it's pouring with rain every single day, it seems very appropriate. Sort it out weather!

I met up with Claire, Eloise and Stacey by the river, and we ventured over together. Get ready for about a million photos...

The kids' room was so cute, full of bobble hats and great colours and patterns. It made me wish I was much tinier.

We sat on the balcony sipping on champagne cocktails, eating tiny food and talking about blogging, before venturing into the rest of the rooms to see the beautiful clothes.

The displays were beautiful, with lots of vintage suitcases on display (a serious weakness of mine - I own around 6 of my own)

The main thing that struck me, was the detailing on all the clothes. The contrasting textures and the deep colours almost had me yearning for colder weather!

And OHMYGOD the furry leopard print boots must be mine!

The men's room was packed with leather and tweed, and a few more contrasting details.  They had every colour of chinos too, so it doesn't look like they'll be disappearing any time soon. Smart/casual seemed to be the general feel of the men's collection.

The ladies at Next were very generous, and gave us a beautiful goodie bag on our way out. It included some scented oil, a lovely scarf, perfume, magazines and an amazing jumper, all in a big aqua/snakeskin bag! I looove how the colours look with my hair!

Thank you for a wonderful day!
