My wonderful flatmate, Kayley, is leaving for Thailand today! She'll be in some lovely hot, vibrant places for two whole months. I'm jealous and sad and soon to be very lonely!

On Saturday, we had a little party to see her off. I made the wall pretty, and made a cake out of some of her favourite things. It was a plain sponge with blue bits in (it's not mould! She loves the colour blue!) four layers, with jam, cream and raspberries in! I covered it entirely in white chocolate and sprinkles, with pink buttons and blue icing! She seemed pretty pleased with it :)

just a girl.

This morning, I altered a skirt that I got from a charity shop in Cheltenham the other week while I was staying with Elliott. I fell in love with the fabric - it really reminds me of Liberty print - but it was such an unflattering length and shape.

NOT ANYMORE!

I think it's my new favourite skirt, and I feel super girly in it. I made sure it's a decent length to wear without tights in the summer too, as I think I'll be wearing this one a lot!

Here, I teamed it with a Primark vest, belt and tights, Topshop ring (old), Lily Loves Lola wishbone bracelet and River Island shoes.

Tonight, Kayley, her boyfriend and I are going for noodles as it's her last night before she goes on her adventure! I'm excited about having chilli squid (probably my favourite food ever) and making her boyfriend the third wheel, but I'm not so excited about her LEAVING ME. DON'T LEAVE MEEEEE!

two more years.

Last week, at my mum's house, I saw around with my cats working on a commisson. A friend asked me to make a cushion for her to give to her husband, for their two year anniversary. You may or may not know, that every year you are married, you're supposed to give a specific gift to your other half.

She wanted a patchwork feel, and chose the backing fabric, and I went from there. I'm pretty pleased with the result, and hope the happy couple are too! It spurred me on to finish my laptop cover, and make more cushions for my bed! Cosy :)

Quite enjoying the boldness of my thick fringe and the polka dots, against the busy-ness (business?!) of the cardigan. I saw this top in Primark last week and HAD to have it. In my opinion, you can never have enough polka dot.

Just a quick casual outfit. Headscarf & tee are both from a charity shop, h&m skirt and Primark brogues. I'm also trying to wear less eye make up as I keep getting itchy eyes lately. Not sure how I feel about it yet! Quite strange not having eyeliner on!

When Elliott opened his little Valentine's gift, this is what he found - a card, shortbread hearts, and coloured white chocolate buttons! All handmade, all cost next to nothing :) you don't need to be a millionaire to show someone you care!

My Valentine's Day get-up! Motel dress, charity shop cardi, H&M flower and customised Dr Martens. I'm travelling up to Cheltenham this afternoon to stay with Elliott (he's just moved back there! Yay!) and then we're going to go out for dinner. Nothing fancy, but we're not fancy people. Can't wait though :)

Above is a photo of a laptop cover I just finished making yesterday! I'm pretty pleased with it. It's padded and has a piece of board in it too, so hopefully it should keep my precious macbook pro safe as I trot around!

I also wanted to show off my new backpack. Last week, I won a £25 asos voucher on Jazmine's blog. I've needed a new weekend bag for a while, as my satchel is slowly giving up. It's really useful to have a bag that I can fit my laptop in, as well as a few other things, and to be able to have my hands free! (Perfect for bicycle adventures in the summer!)

After a bit of a search, I came up with a shortlist of bags that had the right measurements, and this one happened to be exactly £25, so I snapped it up! Surprisingly, I've never bought anything from asos before, but I'm really impressed with their range and their speedy delivery!

beautiful bird.

You might remember this illustration that I did for my big brother's birthday. He asked me to draw a bird that he could get tattooed to represent his daughter, because the name Evelyn means "beautiful bird". We decided on a hummingbird because they're tiny like her, and they're so colourful.

Well, a couple of days ago, he got it done! Scott did an amazing job, the colours are beautiful and it looks great in that position. I want it done now, too!

Just a quick one to fill you in on my short trip to London. Luck was not entirely on our side, as we fell ill on Saturday, and missed our coach home on Sunday due to snow and lots of delays on the tube. However, three lovely ladies and a very handsome cat made it all worthwhile. Thank you Charli, Blondie, Chloé and Frank! I love you all!
