what's in your pocket?

I was recently contacted by MoneySupermarket about their "what's in your pocket?" campaign. They set up secret cameras in a dry cleaners, and told customers that they'd found £20 in their pocket while going to clean their clothes - see people's reactions here!

Along this theme, they are asking people what they would do if they had an extra £20. It really got me thinking, and after a lot of brainstorming I decided I wanted to spend the majority of it on the people who make my life a happy place to be. This is what I did...

I'm sure many of you will have seen these 2013 collections from Orla Kiely before, perhaps the one above is a little more fresh in your mind. The factory girl/secretary vibe in the AW13 video is just perfect.

I thought I'd include the video below as well, because tomorrow is the first day of March, and in my mind that means it's spring. Even though the temperatures are in single figures. We can definitely all still dream of hazy summer days and channeling the Orla Kiely vibe..

bath in fashion bloggers' day.

This weekend was perfect for pulling me out of my rut. Unfortunately I missed out on the Bristol meet on Saturday due to being exhausted, but I got to meet up with Kim, Sophie, Steph, Megan and Chloe (who I found out lives very close to me!) in the evening as they were all in my neck of the woods!

I also got to see their lovely faces on Sunday for the Bath in Fashion Bloggers' Day! It was so lovely to feel like I was part of something special, as there were only 11 other bloggers. We met at the Bath Fashion Museum where we were greeted by tea and scones, and were told more about Bath in Fashion, which is happening in April - fingers crossed for warmth and sunshine by then.

speedy lunch.

This is just a quick and healthy lunch that I had today (after dreaming about it all morning) I love mushrooms in pretty much everything, and kale has loads of vitamins in it, so get this in your body.

• heat 1 clove of garlic and quarter of a red chilli (both finely sliced) in a little olive oil.

• add torn up kale and sliced mushrooms and cook for about 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently.

• pile into a wrap of some kind, with a little mayo if you fancy.

• shove it in your gob.

advertise in march!

I can't believe March is nearly upon us! This could be the ideal time for you to advertise on Being Little - spring and summer are coming up, so this is the ideal time to showcase your new collections or get people excited for warmer weather. Or, they might just be looking for an inspiring blog to read!!

sick and tired.

The days are still cold, and this week my anxiety crept back in, meaning that this was my view for the majority of the week. Hidden beneath piles of blankets I felt safe. I hibernated. Luckily for me, I have some amazing people in my life who help pull me out of this hole, but I'm still not feeling my normal self.

What do you do when the dull grey skies and freezing temperatures make you not want to let go of the blankets? What gives you hope and motivation?

As you probably know, I went to Brighton last weekend. It was a weekend filled with lovely humans, bellybuttons, the tattoo convention, gin, keyboard duets, a horrible hangover, sitting on pavements in the warm sunshine, The Laines, tiny chairs, Snoopers Paradise, the best peppermint tea, sitting in the sun on the beach, touching the tea and it touching us back, drawing on pebbles, being tourists on the beach, fish n chips, icecreams at sunset, more gin, a lot of silly faces, giggles, hugs and kisses.

These photos of Brighton were taken the first and last time I went, two and a half years ago on one of the hottest days of the year! I loved the place, but for some reason have not been back since... until today!

I'm about to dash off for the train for a weekend of tattoo convention, drawing on pebbles and fish n chips! Back on Monday!

spring feelings.

It's an absolutely stunning day today, so this morning I donned my cat-eye sunglasses and had a little wander around where I live. I bought some vegetables from the green grocer's, and then popped into my local charity shops to find that they had put out all their spring stock!

Love it or hate it, Valentine's Day is here once again. I think as I've gotten older I've put less and less emphasis on this day, but it's still incredibly lovely when somebody makes an effort for you, especially with a little something handmade.

In a couple of month's time, two of my favourite super humans are going away travelling for an entire year. A WHOLE BLOOMIN' YEAR. How am I going to cope without them?!

Anyway, the idea to make them some creatures to take with them was born out of a few conversations over Christmas. I made some sketches and got to work. It took ages doing the detail by hand, but I think it was worth it. Below you can see how they were made.

I came home on Monday to find a box full of lovely treats from Love Stuff Box. Everybody has heard of beauty boxes, but this is a bit different in that it contains handmade items from independent sellers.  

The items and their shop links can be found in the image below. I was especially excited about the mojito flavoured marmelade! I haven't tried it yet, but it smells so delicious. The notebook will be super handy as I always like to carry one in my bag, and the bracelets have found a new home on my wrist.

How beautiful is this dress kindly sent to me from AX Paris?! When I saw it on their website it looked a bit short, but thought it would be okay on me as I have little legs and it would definitely be acceptable with tights, and I could not resist the inky pattern and beautiful colours.

Bones upon bones, milky skin, kissing teeth. Learning your face and the way you move. Before you go, I've gone - I've dreamt it. Howling eyes wide open; awake but sleeping inside (y)our mind. I'm nestled in, I'm safe in familiarity.
