The closer I get to 30, the more I look at certain items of clothing and think, "I cannot wear that." - I find myself leaning more towards clean lines, less pattern, and comfort.
Eurgh, that makes me sounds like a right granny, and like I'm saying that you can't wear certain things when you reach 30 - and that's not what I mean at all. It's just the way I'm evolving, and there are many things I put on and feel like I'm a little girl, when really I want to feel my age.
As someone who once had a slight online shopping issue, with new parcels arriving at least once a week, I've found it quite unnerving that I can barely find anything I want to buy recently. I know that everyone's style changes all the time, but at the moment I am so uninspired by what I see in the shops.
I think part of the problem is that I don't know what I want. All I know is that I don't want the shapeless dresses and frills everywhere. Please let me know when they go out of fashion, because they do not suit me at all!
Ted Baker sent over these classic black heels to style up, so I kept it pretty simple. See below for the details!

A Story of a Girl
I 100% agree with you, Lyzi, about the choices of clothes currently. I am also uninspired, hanging on to my boyfriend jeans and simple tops, '90s style chunky platform sandals and boots. Here's to better trends. Cheers, Ardith
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean by that "closer to 30 can't wear that thinking". I actually had a massive crisis the other day about wearing a crop top but then I thought, who gives a crap, Gwen Steffani still gets away with it and looks amazing.
