the creative initiative #1.

I've been toying with the idea of sharing an illustration of mine each week on Being Little, but found it hard to find the motivation to even think of something to draw. So when Lena from The Lovely Little Day contacted me about starting a kind of drawing club with a different subject each week, I jumped at the chance!

Every Thursday there'll be a new theme and a new image from each of us. And, this isn't just a chance for us to show off, we want you guys to get involved too! See below to find out how :)

This week's theme was just a free sketch to get us all warmed up and ready to tackle the next challenges! I chose to draw an abstract moon, with some extra tiny ones surrounding it. I find the moon very inspiring, so it was a no-brainer for me.

I used pencil as it's my absolute favourite, as boring as that sounds! But you guys can use whatever you like - paint, pastels, collage, photography, sewing.. check out the rules below & get started on your first image!

• create something in your sketchbook based on this week's prompt

• post about your artistic endeavor on your blog and link it up to this post

comment on other bloggers' posts - the prompts leave a lot of room to use your imagination and we should all support and encourage each other as we explore!

You can view all the people who are involved & next week's theme below! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with in your wonderful creative brains!

(Images for next week's theme not to be submitted before 14th Nov)

  2. Love this! I've needed an excuse to get drawing again and have so many pretty (empty) sketchbooks that I've collected lying around. Will definitely be getting involved. :)

  8. LOVE your sketch! You can do much more with just a pencil and paper than I can.

  14. I really love this idea- I didn't see this original post and so have only caught up with the idea in the second week, but I'll definitely be joining in from now on! Doing more drawing is definitely something I want to do, but I struggle with the inspiration and having some motivation. Hopefully this will help!
