a pre-christmas wardrobe clear out.

It's the time of year that I start to panic about how little money I have, and how much stuff has accumulated in my little room. Images of handing people a big pile of no presents, and drowning in unworn clothes start to flood my brain. I can't breathe...

Last weekend, Doug popped up to London, so I had the space to figure out what I needed to get rid of. You wouldn't believe how many things I have that I never use. The pile was most definitely bigger than me (although that's probably not actually very impressive)

I split it into three groups - vintage or handmade stuff to sell on Etsy, good quality new clothes etc to sell through a blog sale, and some bits and bobs for charity. Please go and buy these things, give them a good home for Christmas..

But, y'know, it's not actually the end of the world if you don't buy my things. Someone gave me the heads up recently that you can now get a bit of pocket money for your clothes (as well as your old CDs & DVDs) through Music Magpie

Sure, I wouldn't get as much as if I sold them on my blog sale, but the ease of the service makes it very tempting! They have a free courier service, so someone comes right to your door and picks everything up from you! Much easier than struggling down the road to the post office with 20 packages.

All you need to do is enter the barcode & a couple of other details, and you're on your way to getting rid of your old clothes & having a little extra money in your bank ready for Christmas!

Are you having a clear out before Christmas?

  1. This has just made us both desperately want to have a wardrobe clear out! There's something so cleansing about getting rid of things you know you won't wear again.

  2. The agree with the comment above it does feel so good. I've reached a point where I have too much, that I can't move plus all the kids stuff too. I just need some time to sort it and sell it haha x

  3. I'm also in desperate need of a clear out! I've thought about using music magpie before - even though I probably could get more money elsewhere it seems like so much effort to take photos/list loads of stuff! x
