sleepy sundays #1

The amount of times I've heard people complain about not having anything to do on a Sunday is downright SILLY - I can think of loads of things, including something I'm doing today! So this could become a regular little blog post...

Last Sunday, after getting the ingredients for our meal to welcome our newest housemate to the clan, I made myself a fort/den. Yes, sometimes I revert back to being 8 years old; I am being little in my mind. But the best thing about building a fort when you're a "grown up", is that you can take it down when you feel like it! Mine stayed up for two nights.

One VITAL ingredient that I was missing, was snacks. Cookies and milk would've been ideal... oh well, next time! It's also good if you have some company to be snuggly with while watching a nice film, like Where The Wild Things Are. I had my Bunton Bear, but I would like some human-shaped company next time please :)

What are you doing on this sunny Sunday?

Your blanket fort is amazing! I used to make them all the time with my dad and brother. There is so much stuff to do on a Sunday, I think some people feel the need to make excuses for not doing anything and having a lazy day. x

Awesome! Every once in a while, 'grown-ups' are allowed to build a fort, at least in my opinion. Where the wild things is such a beautiful film. <3

i love making dens, although they definitley need to be on the floor regardless of how old I am ;) my mum made me a cabin bed with a secret den when I was little and it was the best, it was filled with bean bags and teddies and there was a tiny hole in one corner so she could pass through lunch ( the crawl through entrance was wayyy too small for grown ups!).

Im meant to be working on Sunday but I've just come down with some horrid bug and the doctor seems to think its serious so I guess I'll still be in bed recovering :(

This is the coolest, most inspiring thing i've seen in a very long time ! We get so wrapped up in day to day life as "grown-ups"i think we forget about the little things that make us happy ! I used to love making dens when i was little, even made one out of loads of umbrellas :) your post made me realise that sometimes its good to do things you used to do as a kid & i'm definitely going to be making myself a den in the near future :)

It is a pretty good idea to make those childish things. Brought a lot of memory to myself while reading your post. So cozy, I am so grateful when on a Sunday morning I can rest with my boyfriend without having anything else to do! We have so buzy lives that when it comes to sleep, it's always rough. And that movie is so awesome!
