little hints.

I'm aching for summer. We keep getting teasers, little hints that it's heading our way, but then it goes cold and cloudy again! I snapped this photo the other day, on the way home from the train station. It's quite a nice walk really!

I found these sandals in Primark and was very happy. They remind me of sandals you'd find in a vintage shop. The only problem is they have VERY slippy soles! Does anyone have a trick to rectify this? Otherwise I'll be flat on my face in no time... any suggestions would be lovely!

  1. Oooh I saw those in there, there's some that are basically exact same in Urban Outfitters!

Don't have a clue about the sloppy soles I'm afraid though, apart from I heard someone using a cheese grater on the bottom, don't know how well that turned out though ha :)

  2. i think if you cross hatch them with a knife that should help the slippery problem as you're creating a texture & giving it more grip.

    hope that helps! :)

  7. I really like them, but won't buy sandals from Primark after last year's pair shredded the top of my toes.

On Snog Marry Avoid Jenny Frost said that the cheesegrater trick works, but I haven't tried it myself. Through I have got some slippery shoes too, so probably should.

  8. I bought those in coral! I loved the brown, but I have a similar tan pair that are a bit too similar. They are super slippy, especially on floorboards! I've heard the scissor/cheese grater tips, but generally I find they get better after a bit of wear - particularly on concrete.

  12. According to my boyfriend sandpaper is good, he told me to do that with a pair of boots I had I just never got round to it as they ended up getting rougher whilst I was walking around in them anyway xx

  22. Love those sandals! My grandpa used to criss cross the soles of slippy shoes with a hot poker, worked a treat, be careful if you try it tho! :) x
