I'm aching for summer. We keep getting teasers, little hints that it's heading our way, but then it goes cold and cloudy again! I snapped this photo the other day, on the way home from the train station. It's quite a nice walk really!
I found these sandals in Primark and was very happy. They remind me of sandals you'd find in a vintage shop. The only problem is they have VERY slippy soles! Does anyone have a trick to rectify this? Otherwise I'll be flat on my face in no time... any suggestions would be lovely!

Oooh I saw those in there, there's some that are basically exact same in Urban Outfitters!
ReplyDeleteDon't have a clue about the sloppy soles I'm afraid though, apart from I heard someone using a cheese grater on the bottom, don't know how well that turned out though ha :)

i think if you cross hatch them with a knife that should help the slippery problem as you're creating a texture & giving it more grip.
ReplyDeletehope that helps! :)
love your blog, you're absolutely adorable.
I nearly bought those sandals in Primark the other day, they're so cute!

I've heard sandpapers a good tip! They are lovely shoes, I might have to treat myself, how much were they?
ReplyDeleteSpray hairspray on the soles and it should help!!!
ReplyDeleteI reaaaally want a giant ice-cream now. Lovely sandals!
ReplyDeleteI really like them, but won't buy sandals from Primark after last year's pair shredded the top of my toes.
ReplyDeleteOn Snog Marry Avoid Jenny Frost said that the cheesegrater trick works, but I haven't tried it myself. Through I have got some slippery shoes too, so probably should.
I bought those in coral! I loved the brown, but I have a similar tan pair that are a bit too similar. They are super slippy, especially on floorboards! I've heard the scissor/cheese grater tips, but generally I find they get better after a bit of wear - particularly on concrete.

PS - I do know that ice cream isn't real really. Promise!
Either sandpaper 'em or attack 'em with a grater :)
ReplyDeleteOwh they're so nice!!

hairspray the bottoms! my friends used to do this on the bottom of their ballet shoes to stop them slipping on slippery stages haha :)
ReplyDeleteAccording to my boyfriend sandpaper is good, he told me to do that with a pair of boots I had I just never got round to it as they ended up getting rougher whilst I was walking around in them anyway xx
ReplyDeleteI just scufffed the soles of my sandals on my wall outside, easy peasy! xx
ReplyDeleteSandpaper! And/or score the underside with a scalpel :)
ReplyDeleteThe sandals are gorgeous. I can't wait for the warmer weather too! x
I can't wait summer either, love your sandals by the way!
ReplyDeleteSandpaper or coca cola on the soles, sounds carzy buts its meant to work! Can't wait for summer :)
ReplyDeletethose sandals are lovely! score the soles with scissors :)

Those sandals are amazing! They look like the sort I would wear (I don't usually do sandals because I hate my feet!) I'll have a look for them in my local Primark!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the summer :D x
Those sandals are pretty neat finds !! Have a couple of slippery soled shoes myself.. I just kind of shuffel. Near railings..

Love those sandals! My grandpa used to criss cross the soles of slippy shoes with a hot poker, worked a treat, be careful if you try it tho! :) x
