The other day, my friend Tom and I were discussing all the music we'd love to see live. I created a very long list of acts that I love, but haven't managed to see yet, as well as a whole bunch I'd like to see again.
In the past year or two, I've been a bit slack with seeing live music. When I was younger, I'd go to lots of gigs - probably an average of one a month - but that little tradition has slipped somewhat. Now I always think they're too expensive, or I'm too picky, or I'd just rather eat biscuits in bed.
It's time to sort that out!
Kickstarted by Seatwave offering me a pair of tickets to a gig in Bristol - Angus & Julia Stone, in case you're wondering! - I then searched everyone on my "To See Live" list, and found 3 more playing in Bristol.
It's safe to say that October & December are definitely going to be great months for gigs, now I just need some for November & the new year!
A really good way of staying up to date with favourite bands & local gigs is the Timbre app, which unfortunately is only available on iPhone at the moment. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll be releasing it on Android soon, to make my gig-going-planning way easier :)
Have you got any concerts lined up in the near future?

I've been slacking on going to gigs recently too, which is a shame, I really want to see the 1975 but when I went to book it was during my first week of uni so I was like... ahh better not. definitely something to put on the 2015 bucket list :)

ReplyDeleteAh! You're so lucky. Also are you sure about Timbre? I have an android and downloaded it a few months ago. I don't know if the fact you're in the UK and I'm in US could be why, but that's weird!
ReplyDeleteYeah it's not available :( at least, not on my phone!

I'm the same! Used to go to loads of gigs as a teen and loved it. Nowadays they are quite a bit more expensive and I don't seem to have the same energy to go to them as I used to. Hope you have fun getting through your list! :)
