Growing up by the seaside in Devon, there was always a White Stuff shop nearby. I had a few bits and bobs from there, but in recent years I haven't really thought about looking at their stuff. I had this misconception that it was all a bit "surfy" or "hippy mumsy". However, browsing through the White Stuff AW13 collection on the John Lewis site, I found loads of classic, comfy looking pieces that would easily slip into my wardrobe.
Doug often makes tiny little origami birds for me, so this scarf and its soft colours caught my eye first. This in-between-seasons stage calls for a coatigan (something I've never even tried on, but I have a feeling I'd really like it!) and perhaps a classic striped jummper to layer up in the evening. The bottom row is full of collared lovelies that could work well as autumn workwear, the peplum jumper being my absolute favourite.

Can't say I've ever been much of a fan of White Stuff. It is too hippy for me.
