Wearing a vintage Marks & Spencer dress.
Bit of a late blog tonight, but I wanted to get these photos of my lovely last day of summer (that's what everyone has been calling it, because it's been so hot and the weather is set to change, and kids are going back to school!) Here's a song to listen to while you read...
I had a thrilling trip to the dentist, and then Mum and I decided to have a little look around Totnes Market. We do this quite often, as it's always interesting. This time the market seemed to have more stalls, and more intriguing things. Today I was especially drawn to this pretty fox, and crochet blankets....
Then, we went on a mission to find me a waterproof coat (just in case it rains at Bestival next week!) and saw this INCREDIBLE truck. I don't think I've ever wanted to drive anything more. The colour and rounded edges are just perfect. I need it please!
We decided to drive a little further for lunch, and ended up at a lovely garden cafe called The Green Ginger, in Ashburton. We sat under a weeping willow and made friends with a lovely cat! She had beautiful markings, and a very loud purr.
There are quite a few antique shops in Ashburton, so we had a little browse. One of my favourites is Fishybelly Antiques. I found more pretty foxes, lovely leather satchels (at reasonable prices, too!) I bought a vintage headscarf from one of the antique shops, and a floral maxi skirt from a charity shop. All for £7!
On our way home we saw a stall selling fresh fruit and flowers. I liked the "vase" they used...
Days like these make me really appreciate where I live. I have a lot of Devon pride (so much so that it's tattooed across my toes) but it's always nice to be reminded how wonderful your home is. I just wish it was the beginning of summer, not the end!
I'm glad you had such a nice day =]
ReplyDeleteI'm particularly fond of that satchel...

I wish it was the beginning too. So sad that summer is over. Have spent the whole time wishing for nice weather that never happened! x
ReplyDeleteIt seems you had a lovely day. That truck is amazing. I would love to visit Devon, as I have never been before. I like the Wonder Woman glass holding the flowers. The presentation of the Tea Towels and blankets is so lovely. Thank you for sharing your last day of summer with us :)
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda sad that the nicest weather has come right at the end... That truck is freaking amazing.. I wanna drive it so bad!!!

aw, feel the same about the end and all. and I'm back to school next week, so trying to snatch up every last bit I can! I can't work out whether I'm scared or not about the multiple foxes. remind me of the time I was in this vintage shop and was stroking something really soft when I discovered it had a paw- I proper full on screamed haha! x

Aww it's so sad that summer is coming to an end I don't feel like I've had a chance to really enjoy it yet! Lovely pictures, I love little markets like this and what fab charity shop finds!

What a perfect day.. these sorts of of cute markets and fruit stalls makes me wish I wasn't a Londoner sometimes. :p xx
ReplyDeletelooks like you had a lovely day, sweetie!
ReplyDeletedevon is such a beautiful place, i wish i lived there. although those foxes do scare me a little, haha. i think i have a fox-phobia ever since seeing 'the crack fox' in the mighty boosh, and there's always foxes in the fields behind my house with that horrible scream they do at night! xx
Bestival? aha I live on the island and I hate bestival time :( Buses are late, and trashed from the mud, traffic is busy, the road I had to take to work is closed off so I use to have to drive the long way. I am still jealous that I don't get to see the cure though...
ReplyDeleteOoh goodness that Fox's face is really scary!
ReplyDeleteI had the best time in Devon and will be going back next year. Loved catching crabs in Birxham and going for afternoon tea!

My boy nearly bought a boars head so he could put it above our fireplace in our future home. The only thing which put him off was the price x
