friday facial.

I'm already starting to miss the slight tan I get during the summer, but I'm getting ready to embrace my pale english rose self again. My skin is not so great in winter - as with a lot of people my skin can get dry and dull. We must remember to exfoliate and moisturise religiously!

I am very into the more natural, verging on grunge autumn make-up looks at the moment. A bit of blush, nude lips, and smudgey brown eyes. Keeping it natural for daytime, and darkening it up for the night. The same with nails - I know that there's a massive trend for nail-art at the moment, but it's not my thing. It can look lovely on other people, but I like to keep my nails simple, block colours. This autumn my nails will be a variety of beige/nude, browns, greys, navy, black, and deep reds.

These days, I rarely go out on a Friday night - instead I like to stay at home and fully pamper myself. I start by taking all my make-up off and exfoliating my face with a gentle exfoliator. Then I put on a clay mask and one of those nose strips. They stay on for about 15 minutes before I wash it all off and put a luxurious layer of thick moisturiser all over my face. I leave that on for as long as I have - sometimes a couple of hours - before using a balancing toner and then a light moisturiser. I have combination skin so if I leave the thick moisturiser on overnight my face is a big greaseball, but at the same time, my skin can be dry, so it is nice to have the moisture hit. Bloody skin!
While I leave the thick moisturiser on, I take off the nailvarnish I've been wearing all week, moisturise my fingers and toes, file my nails and then repaint them - ALWAYS basecoat, one or two layers of colour, then topcoat.
After all of that I feel so ready for whatever the weekend might throw at me!

Do any of you have a beauty regime?
