Lately, when I'm feeling a little low, I walk. I am stupidly lucky to have such a beautiful place not far from my home. Every time I go, I discover something new. This time I went on a hunt for the hollow trees, in the hope that I could climb inside and disappear, just for a little while.
James told me about these magical trees last week when we were walking, and I made a mental note to find them the next time I was there. I followed the leaves highlighted with frost for a little while before I found the first hollow tree - someone had tried to make it into a little den with some branches. As I continued to wander around I found three more! It was really exciting, and every time I crept inside one I felt like I was inside a secret. Covered in cobwebs and gnarled.
It was so lovely, just me and the trees, but I got frozen pretty quickly (I think it was -1ºC today) so I stopped in the café to warm my body from the inside out with a cup of tea, and then wandered home feeling much more like myself.
these photos are lovely lyzie, you're lucky to have such a magical place so close :) ox

ReplyDeleteI often go for walks if I'm feeling low or just need to clear my head. I have a puppy, so walking is a regular thing and it's surprising how even when you don't think you're needing it, you feel so much better after a wee stroll. The hollow trees are incredible!
ReplyDeleteAw what beautiful photos, I'd love to hide away sometimes as well x

ReplyDeleteYou have a new layout! OHHHH this might have happened ages ago. I'm such a bad follower. I've had literally no time lately and I have missed you and your blog.
ReplyDeleteAnyway. I want to find these trees of yours! They look incredibly comforting, something quite reassuring as nature giving you a proper hug.
