santa ponsa, majorca!

I thought I'd share some holiday snaps with you while it's all still fresh in my mind, I'm feeling fresh, and not too sad about leaving it all behind. This was mine & Nick's first holiday together, and it was full of sun, swimming, and sangria!

We arrived in Palma early on Sunday morning and had a wander around the impressive cathedral and pretty streets. My bag was really heavy and it was VERY warm compared to England, so we stopped for coffee before getting the bus to Santa Ponsa.

Santa Ponsa had a very different vibe to Palma - really beachy and bustling with tourists. There was an awesome food market along the seafront when we arrived & were wandering around trying to find our apartment. I was exhausted from carrying my heavy backpack, so we stopped for a massive sangria and some food, before heading to the apartment to meet our friends.

They showed us around a bit & we had some dinner before they had to catch their flight back to England, and then we made the apartment feel like home. A super early night was needed after our 3am wake up!

The next couple of days were filled with beaching, pizza, sangria and card games. I looooved having weather warm enough to swim everyday - around 28ºC - and I love getting curly sea hair - it's my favourite!

We had been planning of seeing more of the island before we arrived - once we were there we just wanted to lay out in the sun, swim, and just totally relax. We bought yummy bread, chorizo, salad from the supermarket and hung out at our apartment and by the pool a lot.

I think we went out to eat every day - we found a couple of places we really liked to the left side of the beach. I tried paella, prawns... all sorts! And I liked it a lot!

Wednesday started out very cloudy, so we grabbed a coffee before exploring the coast around right hand side of the beach. We walked all the way around the edge before heading up the hill looking for the steps that lead up to the top.

We eventually found them and starting hiking up, before long we were joined by the softest, friendliest cat! It made the gorgeous views even better for me! It was time to head back down & look for some tapas and cocktails - and we were not disappointed on that front! - before heading back to the apartment for more sangria as the sun went down.

The next day we lay around by the pool before heading out to watch the sunset & then go for more pizza! We enjoyed it so much on Monday that we had to go back for more!!

The sunset was absolutely beautiful, and the weather was perfect for it. The sun sets right over the sea and there were a few people around watching it and posing for photos. I can only imagine how busy it gets in the school holidays, but being out of season meant it was nice and quiet.

As our holiday started winding to a close, we spent more time at the beach and just making the most of the heat & sun before we'd have to head home.

I miss being able to wear my summer dresses, but I've promised myself I'll keep swimming often... and I'm kind of looking forward to wrapping up in scarves and coats!
