never throw out anyone.

• logic and reason are opposite to love, love is next to loneliness. •

This wonderful book, which I keep getting lost in, was a belated birthday gift from my Dad. I have been spending some time looking through it, finding my favourite quotes. I painted some of them up, and Jazmine commented on how she'd love some of her favourites in gold frames.

You may or may not know that it was her birthday recently, and her super-thoughtful mother organised a surprise cocktail party for her! Unfortunately, I couldn't make it, but I sent her these two quotes below as another slightly belated birthday gift.

I really hope she likes them.

Do you have any favourite quotes?

• quotes below - audrey hepburn, william morris •

What a wonderful post, Lyzi! As soon as I saw the pages of the book, I recnogised it instantly - my dad also bought me a copy of the Oxford Dictionary of Quotations! It's ever so slightly different to yours - yours focuses on themes and mine on who said what - but I too love referring back to my big book of quotes for some inspiration.
I'm sure Jazmine will love the painted quotes, as they look beautiful and are truly heartfelt.

Best Wishes,

Tara

I love quote books like this one and love your style of water colour writing. I really think you should sell originals like these. I particulary like the first quote.

This would be my ideal gift. I love quotations. One of my favourite literary quotations is 'Grace under pressure'. Ernest Hemingway said it and it's just about remaining calm in the face of trouble. Wish i could live my life by that mantra a bit more sometimes! x

That's my kind of book. I'm a sucker for a good quote. A bit random but I love the material you used for the photo backdrop. Feels very royal, especially with a book that looks like that on top.

I've been after this book for some time, may have to make a cheeky purchase :)
The quotes she chose are lovely, I've been a fan of Oscar Wilde since I can remember so I do adore his quotes, especially - "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars" & "Illusion is the first of all pleasures"
