This is my favourite tray ever - you've probably seen it pop up in various blog posts and instagram pictures. I got it for about 20p at a recycling centre a few years ago, as I was attracted to the old map print. Since then it's faded quite a lot and had a lot of spillages, so I thought it was about time I recovered it..
You can see below how I did it, with this lovely book print wrapping paper that I picked up from a gift shop. There are a couple of things you need to remember if you're going to try something similar!
• always cut the paper a little bigger than you think you need it
• only use a very thin layer of PVA glue, so it's just tacky
• use a bone folder or something similar to smooth out any bubbles
• wait until the glue is fully dry before trimming the edges
And there we go, doesn't it look smart?! I think I almost like it better than when I first found it!
• follow on: twitter • facebook • bloglovin'
Great idea!
