Well, I'm home now after a long overdue lovely week with Elliott. It was so good to spend some proper time with him. He made me a packed lunch and waved me off as the train pulled out, and as soon as he was out of view I started quietly sobbing :(

Today I just want to sulk but I have too much to do, including the first in some more cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) sessions. I've mentioned before, and spoken to some other people who suffer with anxiety, that they have helped me enormously. I think these sessions are more intense, and they're with a different person, so I'm a little on edge.
Apart from that, today I'm posting things, possibly accompanying my brother to the hospital, doing some washing, sorting out going to the Cosmo Blog Awards (pleaseplease vote for me here!) and going to an open galleries event this evening in Dartmouth. Busy day!
Finally, here's a picture of Elliott's new puppy, Holly. She's so tiny and cute!

I have a Doggy called Holly too :)
ReplyDeleteI never knew there was so many bloggers who suffer from anxiety. I suffer with anxiety and social phobia and I have spoken with a nurse about it and she just printed some breathing exercises off for me but it doesn't work so I just put up with feeling like rubbish with it :/

Your hat is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the top - the print is lovely! I hope your sessions go ok for you! Just curious but have you ever tried hypnotherapy for it? My parents studied curative hypnotherapy and helped people with anxiety and panic attacks. Just wondering :)
ReplyDeleteHolly is so friggin' adorable... As is your cute, knitted hat x

Both me and my brother have suffered from depression and he had CBT. He said it helped him immensely, so I hope it works for you too :) Voted for you sweet xx
ReplyDeleteGood luck with CBT, I hope it went well. I love your hat by the way! And good luck with the cosmo blog awards - you definitely deserve to win.
ReplyDeletelove your hat! :) have you ever tried homeopathy? thats my go to alternative remedy, i literally haven't been to a doctor in years because it's so good. it's really gentle and works on the basis that everybody is an individual, which i think is really lovely. it's just a thought, might help with your anxiety. (and that puppy is beyond cute!) x
ReplyDeleteThat puppy is the sweetest thing in the world! My boyfriend's puppy is already growing up so fast. CBT works wonders in my opinion, you feel so silly to start with but it actually works. Can be intense though, like you say. Stick with it!
ReplyDeleteTo Jessica, Lolo and anyone else who posted about not being taken seriously/not having tried it - go to different doctors until someone takes you seriously. Mental health issues (anxiety included) are the most poorly provided parts of the NHS, so sometimes you need to make them realise how debilitating it is before they'll do something. It is completely worth it! xx
Oh the leaving after spending time together sucks majorly doesn't it? I cry every time... and I'm normally driving, crying and driving don't mix well lol! Lovely outfit, I love the top and the bobble hat is so cute :) Glad you had a lovely week :)
ReplyDeleteL x
Awwww big hugs to you Lyzi :) must've been lovely spending a week with him though :)

Good luck with the CBT, I've been having CBT for anxiety and depression for a while now and have found it really helpful :)

I had CBT for high anxiety, and at first i wasn't sure it would work, but I felt the difference within 6 months. I still get really shakey for no reason but the panic attacks have stopped. I hope it helps you too xxx

Love love love your outfit- especially the beanie (so cute on you) and the river island top- the delicate colour and floral fabric are divine. Oh and the puppeeee! My family used to have a spaniel exactly like that- she's just too cute for words. Good luck with your CBT sessions- I suffer from anxiety too (among other things!) and I've considered undergoing hypnotherapy but I've always been too busy to arrange it... so good on you for making the effort. I've heard CBT is very effective ;)
ReplyDeleteLovely lovely outfit!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I agree: I never knew so many of us bloggers have anxiety! CBT is supposed to be really helpful. :)
Aw I love your hat. And the puppy! I, too, suffer from anxiety and depression, so I know how hard it can be. I think there are a lot more people out there who suffer from similar afflictions than we're aware of, because it's such a stigma to talk about it. I admire you for being open about it; not many people are comfortable enough to do so. <3
ReplyDeleteI love your hat in this post, your outfit is so pretty...also cute doggie.
ReplyDeleteLove this blog!!!! x
