hunting for hidden gems at tk maxx!

• this post is sponsored, but all opinions are my own! •

You might've seen last week, that I was lucky enough to be one of the first people through the doors of the brand new TK Maxx store in Bristol! Armed with a gift card, I headed in for a good old rummage to see what goodies I could pick up! I may have been in there for at least two hours..

The very first UK TK Maxx store was opened in Bristol 24 years ago, and two of the original employees (who still work there!) got to cut the ribbon as the new store opened its doors for the first time. This new store is in such a better location, and it's well laid out, with a huge women's section on the ground floor, along with shoes and accessories, and men's, kids' and homewares upstairs.

The best things about TK Maxx are the range of brands, and of course, the prices - they are always up to 60% off RRP, and there's a clearance section, where you find the best steals!

I managed to find some brilliant bargains from both women and homeware. I really loved the Modbox section, and you can see a photo of my little haul below! I picked up a couple of basics and PJs, a fancy new top, a new knife and mug for our kitchen, and a lovely scented candle. All of these labels would normally cost much more, so I was amazed to be able to get all of this with money left over!

Sometimes shopping in a big store can be a little daunting, so here are a couple of tips!

• Don't shop with a specific item in mind - you don't always know what you'll find in TK Maxx, so having an idea of the sort of thing you'd like is fine, but looking for something specific might end in disappointment. Go with an open mind!

• Make sure you have time - the store is quite big, and the best way to find some hidden gems is to look through every rail, so make sure you have time to do so! It's such a joy flicking through the rails and finding something you really love.

• Add up as you go - all the discounted prices can make you a little giddy (speaking from experience..) so to stop you going overboard, tot up your items as you go, to make sure you don't overspend.

• And don't forget you can always shop online, or look there for inspiration!
