I've been to Weston-super-Mare a few times in my life - once with a boyfriend when I was 20, living in Bristol, and slowly dropping out of uni. We went on Valentines Day and it was actually pretty sweet, despite how cold and grey it was. I also went last year with one of my BFFs and her sister, in the hopes of seeing Backstreet Boys, however they pulled out of their gig on the beach. I was NOT impressed, and I still haven't forgiven them.
This time I went to take some snaps of my new sandals from Teva, to promote their Original Summer campaign & competition! If you enter, you could win a pair of sandals (one pair is being given each week!) and the best picture of the summer will win a US roadtrip for 2 people!! That is an INSANELY good prize!
All you have to do is capture your original summer moment, and post it on Instagram with the hashtag #OriginalSummer - and don't forget, you must follow Teva on Instagram too!
So, here's a little inspiration for you! It was a cloudy, but bright day, so Nick and I hopped on the train to the seaside for a very British day trip! Despite the sea breeze and overcast skies, there were kids building sandcastles and even swimming, and lots of tourists enjoying their break by the sea - including us!
(I'm wearing an old jumper & dress from H&M, Urban Outfitters sunnies, Teva sandals*, and THIS bag*)
Walking back into town we saw lots of families crabbing! One of my favourite seaside pastimes, although we didn't indulge this time, we did stop to see how many crabs the kids had caught!
No seaside jaunt is complete without fish 'n' chips, so we headed inland slightly to a highly recommended cafe, which didn't disappoint at all! It was so YUM!
We needed to work off all those chips, so we went to play crazy golf! It was really fun, and despite me saying, "take my photo with the number one flag, because I'm number one!!" - I didn't actually win.. but Nick only beat me by one point! Which is much better than last time I played/cheated my way around a course, and still lost by miles.
Guys, have you ever seen an ice cream as Istagram-worthy as this?! It's so colour coordinated! Not to mention, blackcurrant ice cream is incredibly delicious. If you're in Weston and fancy a crazy coloured ice cream cone, head to PJ's on the seafront!
Of course, I had to have a photo or two taken with the beauty, and where better than in front of the Grand Pier?! Tourist holiday snaps at their best - especially with the vintage feel that my Instax camera creates!
After a couple of drinks and watching the sun go down, we headed back to the train station just as it was starting to rain! So glad the weather held off for our fun day by the sea! Weston, I've fallen a little bit in love with you, and all your tacky seaside glory.
What would be your #OriginalSummer moment?
Don't forget to enter it in to the competition to win that US roadtrip!
I received compensation for this post, but I meant every word :)

Ah very nice! I've never been that way, how far is it from Bristol? I'm a big fan of Teva, I have two pairs and Hollie has some too. They're pretty cool looking, but not hugely popular, not sure why!

I don't know why either! To be honest I'd not heard of them before they contacted me - maybe it's just more advertising that they need! Weston is only half an hour from Bristol :) x
DeleteOH WOW, that bag is amazing!!
