2012 highlights.

Lots of people are doing round-up posts of outfits and whatnot at the moment, but I thought I'd do a general bunch of highlights! I loved looking back over the past year, it showed me how far I've come, despite all the ups and downs...

MEOWY CATMAS!

This is how my Christmas Day started! Buck's fizz and my favourite present - a cat kigu!! I never wanted to take it off, and even wore it in public to visit my brother, sister-in-law and niece! I'm off to my Granny's now to eat lots of food and drink some more wine...

I wish every single one of you a very happy Christmas! You're all bloody stars in my eyes, and I LOVE YOU ALL.

I was going to post this yesterday evening, but ended up getting back really late and rather tipsy... but I guess that's what Christmas is all about! 

I wore this cosy, comfy outfit to go Christmas shopping yesterday. I've worn this jumper from Mary Jane Fashion pretty much every day since I received it - it's that deep burgundy colour that I just cannot get enough of. I'm really into wearing slouchy jumpers over this Motel dress that I've had for ages. It's fun dressing something down that would usually only be worn on a night out.

These shoes are from the ASOS 50% off sale that I could not resist last week.. a little Christmas present to myself! You can't really tell in these photos, but they have a sort of leather look, and a slight flatform sole. I love them, even though one of them hurts the back of my foot :( the 50% sale isn't just for shoes now, it's for everything, if you want to check it out! 

And I can't forget this lovely tote bag that Ella gave to me for Christmas while she was staying at mine after the #SWBXmas party last weekend :) totes are perfect for shopping, as you can shove everything in there and not end up with millions of plastic bags! Save the planet, yo! 

Today is one of my favourite days of the year - the day mum and I go to get the Christmas tree!! No matter how bad I feel, this festive task never fails to put me in an amazing mood. The year that it snowed was the most magical. And I have one or two more presents to buy.

Hello! Sorry I've been absent for a while - things got a bit hectic with preparations for the #SWBXmas party (which went really well, by the way! I'll post a round up soon!) we also had a lovely Christmas dinner in our household at the weekend, before we all go back to our family homes! 

Since then I've been absolutely exhausted and had to cancel most of my plans :( I'm also going back to Devon a day early, as I just can't wait any longer! I want to be looked after and cuddle the cats! 

So I'm training home for Christmas today. If you see me struggling with my giant suitcase and big bag of presents, please give me a helping hand!

I am really enjoying the stud trend, but I prefer little hints towards it, rather than covering myself in the things. This vest from AX Paris really appealed to me, in this subtle khaki green. When I received it, I thought it was a really weird shape, but it makes it drape in a really nice way. 

I was also pleasantly surprised to find it was long enough to wear as a dress, so I popped on my trusty super cosy tights from Primark and Clarks Originals desert boots, made my waist more visible with a studded skinny belt - also Primark. A slick of vampy lipstick - Rimmel Bordeaux - and a a bit of hair fluffing and I'm good to go! (obviously added a thick cardi, coat and hat when I went out!)

Recently, I'm finding myself really attracted to simple, easy outfits that I can just put on and go, without a lot of thought. It seems like I'm getting more and more exhausted lately, and I just don't have the energy to think too much about my appearance! I have a feeling I'll be getting a lot of wear out of this vest over the next few weeks!

vintage and matthew&me.;

A while ago, I was blogging and tweeting about one of my favourite bands (Matthew&Me) needing pledges to buy their new van. I pledged, and in return I got this lovely t-shirt and signed EP in the post the other day. I'd sort of forgotten that I was getting anything in return, so it was like an early Christmas present :)

After catching up with some blogs this morning, I was inspired to wear coloured tights and vintage shoes. And so, my outfit was born. I teamed it with a headscarf that used to belong to my mum, as my hair needs a wash and my head is cold (I've learnt my lesson - don't get half your hair cut/shaved off in the winter!)

Pretty excited as well, that next Thursday I should be stewarding at a little Christmassy Matthew&Me gig at Dartington Hall - one of my most favourite places ever!

wintery walk.

This morning, I decided to start my day of productivity off with a lovely little frosty walk, to make me feel inspired for the rest of the day. My walk turned into a three-hour ramble around, and by the time I got home I was so exhausted that I couldn't handle doing much for the rest of the day...! I don't think I'm quite over my throat infection yet.

Anyway, I think it was worth it, because look how goddamn beautiful it is where I live...

sleepy sundays #4

 

I missed a sleepy sundays post last week, because I was literally asleep ALL DAY. I was very hungover and tired from Saturday's antics (the day of 6 Christmas markets and then going out for my housemate's birthday!)

However, this is what I would've done, if I'd been awake...! Sundays are the perfect day for snuggling up in some blankets and watching your favourite films, especially when it's cold outside!

Just add snacks, and maybe some nice friendly company (I find those in the shape of a cat or a nice human are best) and you're set for the day.

Today I'm actually having quite an exciting day, because it's my niece's first birthday party and naming ceremony! I've baked lots of little cupcakes, and I can't wait to see all my family!
