Thursday 1 January 2015

hello, 2015.

new year's day

As I get older, I feel like the changes that each year brings are more important. I feel like I lose myself a little, and then need a bit of time alone to remember who I am again. This time to reflect is so important to me, especially in such a busy age. I hope to take time out at the end of each month - even if it's just 15 minutes - to take stock of what's really going on, and to hone in on my goals.

I'm proud of all the things I overcame last year, but my hopes for 2015 are bigger and better. I want change. I have ambition. I'm determined to see more of this beautiful world, to be more independent, and to take constant, little steps towards the life I want to lead. I'm also not going to sit on my feelings or let them/people get the better of me! Keeping things bottled up never helps anybody.

More outwardly, I want to continue to try to make my special people smile. I want to keep promises to see people more often, send more letters and cards, and treat them to little things just because. Those people who make me feel better everyday without even realising it deserve a little more recognition and love.

Thank you to everyone who gave me special memories in 2014, and let's make some more.

Thanks also to all of you who read my ramblings and support what I do!

What do you hope for in 2015?

  1. Morning Lyzi, hope you had a good night last night 😃. This is a lovely post to wake up to. I feel very similar about sending little notes/cards and gestures to those that are they for me throughout the year. I think sometimes I've overlooked the little things that are actually more important than the big things we worry about. H
Happy New Year and looking forwards to reading more of your post x

  3. Happy New Year, I wish you all the best.

And by the way, from a previous post about alternative things to do NYE, me and my boyfriend went for a midnight walk to find some fireworks. Perfect beginning to the year. :)

    All the best. Stay Happy.

  6. Happy New Year lovely Lyzi! I love the sentiment of doing more and doing the little things for people 'just because'. That's definitely something I want to do more of. It's so easy nowadays to lose focus and just become a bit greedy. xx

  7. I love this. I definitely agree with you on doing little things to make a person's day, and I'm hoping to do that as well. Good luck, have a great year!

  8. I love this post! I'll definitely be trying to take a little time out for reflection every now and then this year. 2014 just seemed to race by and I don't think I took quite enough time to take stock, savour the good experiences and learn from the bad. Happy New Year!
