her.

Yesterday morning, I got an email about the newest offering from Spike Jonze's brilliant brain. I've been a fan of his films for quite a while, so I eagerly clicked on it and read the review, watched the trailer, and kept the imdb page open all day. Last night we watched it, and it didn't disappoint me even a tiny little bit.

Her is a love story unlike any others, and a quite believable glimpse into the not-too-distant future. I don't want to spoil the plot for anyone who is thinking of watching it (by the way, don't think about it, just do it.) but I will talk about how absolutely beautiful it is to watch - the muted colours with warm pops of reddy tones made my eyes so pleased, the dialogue is so... I can't even think of a word to describe that.

We felt so emotionally involved, and welled up a few times. Afterwards, we both said we need to watch it again, in a quieter environment so that we can really take in everything that is said.

If you want to watch an unusual, incredibly moving love story, Her is for you.

  4. Oh gosh, I didn't realise this had even been released! I'm desperate to watch it (alongside a few other Oscar nominees, inc. American Hustle, 12 Years A Slave and The Wolf of Wall Street, as well as the independent film Prince Avalanche) but revision and exams are currently in the way - here's hoping they all stay on-screen for a few more weeks so I'll get the chance to watch them all! Her really does sound and look quite wonderful :) and I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it!

  10. I literally just finished watching the film, and let's just say I cried like a baby throughout it. Oddly enough, it felt so realistic despite it being set in a time we're not in. It felt as though it hit so close to home. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do, but nevertheless I am so happy I watched it,

    Thanks for suggesting this film!
I just may have to make a post about this film myself too after being so touched by it! :)
