sick and tired.

The days are still cold, and this week my anxiety crept back in, meaning that this was my view for the majority of the week. Hidden beneath piles of blankets I felt safe. I hibernated. Luckily for me, I have some amazing people in my life who help pull me out of this hole, but I'm still not feeling my normal self.

What do you do when the dull grey skies and freezing temperatures make you not want to let go of the blankets? What gives you hope and motivation?

  1. Perseverance and proactivity is my only way through anxiety and dark times. Feel better soon xo

  2. I've been lacking motivation lately, too, & this cold weather is starting to get to me. What always helps me is to make some to-do lists with things I have/want to do ranging from small tasks to more difficult ones. As I check more & more items off the list, I start to feel more motivated & accomplished. Hope you feel better soon!

  3. Hope you're feeling better soon. when I'm feeling down I try to get some fresh air and go on relaxing walks. Just being outside surrounded by nature helps me gain perspective. xx

  5. When my anxiety creeps up on me I try and do the little things I enjoy, starting off with something easy like a good film and a hot chocolate, then maybe baking something nice, and then I work my way up to going for a walk and then possibly meeting a friend for coffee. It's definitely all about small steps, but keeping yourself busy in a happy way.
Hope you find a way to push past it, I know how horrible anxiety can be :( xxx

  9. i'm the same luckily I can tr and cut it down to one or two days a week now. to motivate myself a make a habit of getting out of bed making a brew, having a bit of breakfast and sit upright watching tv and reading online then i shower and get fully dresed and made up - if i get back into bed its a waste of time and effort!

  12. when i feel low and anxious i take things step by step, do little things! i find that the best way :) a nice long bath first, make a list as well with the things to do. even the little things i write down such as eat breakfeast or whatever, and then i feel better once i tick it off!! I have just written a post on my mental health journey if you want to take a look! Part one anyways. Stay strong, you can do it :) xxxx

  14. I know the feeling :( I've been hibernating these past few weeks as well. To combat it, I try to read as much as possible - that always helps. I visited my mum this weekend to try and rouse me out of my mood as well x

  17. I love how you are completely honest about your feelings. It's really refreshing. Don't ever stop.

I wish I could help you with getting out of the blankets but I suffer from depression and know how hard it can be.

I feel better if I have something exciting to look forward to like meeting friends or going on holiday. Maybe you could try to organise something to do.

I hope all your messages of advice and support have helped you feel a bit better.

    Take care xxx

  18. Chicken soup, and lighting a few candles and my twinkle-lights, and listening to the 'Pride and Prejudice' soundtrack, and trying to breathe deeply all can help. I also took a mindfulness class recently - really helpful for anxiety. There's lots of free podcasts online that are useful.

Hope you're feeling better soon. Hate that feeling of wanting to hide.
