rediscover your wardrobe #2

• H&M HAT & DRESS • TK MAXX CARDI • MYNAMENECKLACE NECKLACE • DR MARTENS SHOES •

I was going to get rid of this dress as I saw it as a summer dress, and it shrank slightly in the wash, making it a bit dangerous to wear bare-legged. However, with some tights and a big chunky cardigan I think it's just fine for winter! It's such a flattering shape too.

This is the warmest cardigan I think I've ever had! There's no way I'll ever get cold in this snuggly thing!

Do you have any summer dresses that could be styled up for the winter months?

BLOG SALE!

Soooo December is just around the corner, and that means a) I need more money, and b) you guys probably need some new clothes to keep you cosy... right? It's blog sale tiiiiime! Terms & conditions below..

Original Lazy Oaf sweatshirt from a good few years ago! This design is no longer printed. Really cute, 3/4 length sleeves. Pretty much perfect condition as I've not worn it much.
No size label, but would fit a size 8/10.

SOLD

Original Motel sweatshirt, also from a few years ago, bought in their flagship Bristol store. Sweet little bird print, really flattering & goes with pretty much anything! Still in good nick.
Size small (8-10)

SOLD

Possibly the most on-trend colour right now, TU cardigan. I've worn this a lot as it goes with everything, but I now have another cardi in the same colour!
Label reads size 14, but I'm a size 10 and it looks fine on me!

SOLD

H&M tattoo print cardigan (sorry for the crumpliness in the photo - I don't have an iron)
Size 10
£3

Leopard print tunic with lace collar & square buttons, only worn a couple of times (once here, in a 60s look!)
Actually from the kids section, but would fit a size 6-10 (but it's not made for big boobs!)

SOLD

Beautiful paisley-detail sheer blouse from Lavish Alice. Only worn a couple of times (once here, in a 70s-inspired outfit!) in perfect condition, but I never really wear it as sheer blouses make me self conscious!
Size 12
£8

River Island tie-front shirt. Suuuuch a cute shirt but I have only worn it about twice (once here) so it's in perfect condition.
Size 10

SOLD

H&M checked chinos, with a slight slit at the bottom. Really flattering but are now a little big around the waist for me! They have similar styles in store this year. Back pockets are not real pockets. Cheeky.
Size 10
£8

New Look forest green high waisted zipper jeans. They are still selling the black version of these online, as you can see from their photos they're really flattering. The zip at the back makes your bum look incredible. Just sayin'.
Size 10

SOLD

OH MY GOD. THAT Zara scallop-pocket detail jersey skirt that everyone wanted a few years back. I love this skirt but I haven't worn it in ages as it's really short. SO super cute though and will be sad to see it go. Worn here, here and here. Still in really good condition.
Size M (about a 10)

SOLD

Primark striped skater skirt, super cute and flirty. Worn a couple of times, once on Halloween!
Size 10
£3

Ax Paris ditzy rose print playsuit. So so super sweet, and lovely soft floaty fabric. Really flattering. See what it looks like on, here!
Size 10

SOLD

Bright yellow eagle necklace from a New York branch of Forever21 a few years ago!
Chain length approx 26cm

SOLD

Love has wings necklace. Can't remember where from.
Chain length approx 24cm

SOLD

Love birds necklace. This was either from Topshop or Accessorize I think.
Chain length approx 22cm
£3

Apple clock pendant. Clock no longer works, but battery can be replaced. Still cute though!
Chain length approx 44cm
£2

Set of two H&M rings, barely worn.
Size large I think...
£2

Jaguar brooch, so cute!
Nose to tail, about 4.5cm
£2

Large tiger brooch. The clasp is slightly dodgy, but could be fixed with some pliers.
Toe to tail, about 8cm
£2

Sparkly vintage style brooch.
Approx 5cm across.

SOLD

Gorgeous BeauXOXO headband, gorgeous Liberty fabric and a lovely big bow. Worn here and as you can see it looked lovely with my pink hair, but now I feel like it doesn't suit me so much.

SOLD

The AMAZING leopard print desert booties that I fell in love with at the Next A/W12 preview, bought and found out they don't really suit me... I can't get used to myself in patterned shoes so I am regretfully selling these. They're in perfect condition, and have never been worn outside. I bought them for £28 and as they are basically new, I'd like to sell them for around £20.. make me an offer! They're size 3.

Please email me (don't comment here!) at beinglittle@hotmail.co.uk if you'd like to purchase an item of clothing, stating the item(s) in the email subject line.

Postage will be £1-3 depending on how heavy the item(s) are, and we can discuss it via email. Shipping to the UK only I'm afraid.

rediscover your wardrobe #1

• THE DREAM CATCHER BEHIND MY HEAD MAKES MY HAIR LOOK WEIRD, AND PLEASE IGNORE THE BIG HOLE IN MY TIGHTS.. •

Every few months, I go through my wardrobe and pick out all the clothes I haven't worn recently, or don't really like anymore. These then get sold in a blog sale/on eBay, or in the Being Little Shop. However, there are some items that are old favourites, that I can't bear to part with, "just in case".

This blazer is one of them. I think I got it when I was about 14 or 15, in a desperate attempt to be grown up. I have barely worn it. It's a little big, and the button is pointless, but worn with the sleeves rolled up it becomes the perfect boyfriend blazer.

These sweet shorts haven't been worn much since I bought them a couple of years ago. They make my hips look bigger and my waist look small, especially when worn with my old favourite go-with-anything belt. I wore this lapis lazuli heart pendant a lot towards the end of summer, when my good friend gave it to me, but since then it's just been hanging on my bed. I love wearing it over plain tops/dresses to make it the focus.

I added an almost-sheer vest from Topshop, a vintage headscarf and my Clarks Originals desert boots, and I feel like a smart hippy... is that a thing? I'm going to make it a thing.

Do you ever go through your wardrobe and rediscover things?

I have a couple more rediscovered outfits coming up over the next few days, and there's a bunch of stuff that I will be selling on a blog sale later, so keep your peepers peeled for that!

beauty boxes // glossybox & joliebox.

I've been receiving GlossyBoxes for a while now, and though I knew there were other beauty boxes out there, I'd never actually got around to trying them. I got an email from JolieBox recently, asking if I'd like to try one of their boxes and I jumped at the chance! I really like beauty boxes, as I'm a bit of a beauty novice, so it's nice to try things out and learn about products I might not have tried before.

I thought it'd be quite interesting to show the differences between the two boxes, and see just what you get for your money (both boxes are £10 + p&p)

First up is the JolieBox. The first thing that I noted as a massive plus point is the little magazine that came with it - it's full of information, advice, ideas... I loved flicking through and getting tips! A cool little extra.

• BEAUTY IN THE CITY - THE PRODUCTS •

VERTUMNE Á VÉNUS - MANUCURE ABSOLUE: a moisturising & regenerating hand cream made with all natural ingredients. I get really dry hands in the winter, and this does a pretty good job of keeping them moisturised. I find the scent a bit overpowering though.

JANE IREDALE - GLOW TIME BB CREAM: this was actually the first BB cream I've tried, and despite the shade being a bit dark for my skin, it looked pretty nice. It gave good coverage, and I like the idea of everything being combined in one. It claims to be lightweight, but it felt quite heavy on my skin.

TOPICREM - BODY GLITTER 3D EFFECT: I really like this! It's a sweet, shimmery cream that gives you a nice glowy sheen! I'll definitely be cracking this out for nights out & Christmassy dos.

DEAD SEA SPA MAGIK - GENTLE FACIAL WASH: I really like this brand, I've received some body scrub before and it was lush. This is fine on my sensitive skin & leaves me feeling fresh.

YARDLEY - ROYAL DIAMOND EAU DE TOILETTE: a fresh and light scent, which is what I usually go for! Floral and girly.

MARVIS - AMARELLI LIQUOIRICE TOOTHPASTE: I hate liquorice! I will not be putting this anywhere near my mouth, however the packaging is awesome! I love the vintage feel.

This month, I feel GlossyBox has done well, as the majority of the products I really like and would buy again. I'm not that into brands etc, so I don't know if these products are necessarily better than in the JolieBox, but I really like them! But then, there's no little magazine... hmm.

• STOCKING FILLERS - THE PRODUCTS •

ALISON CLAIRE NATURAL BEAUTY - MANGO BODY BUTTER: this smells sooooooooo good. The little pump can be a bit annoying when you have moisturiser-y hands, but it makes up for it by smelling and feeling amazing.

DERMALOGICA - DAILY MICROFOLIANT: I've tried this product before, as my sister-in-law uses a lot of Dermalogica products, and I still love it. My skin felt RIDICULOUSLY soft after using it, and the dry skin I had has disappeared.

WEI BEAUTY - JUJUBE AGE CONTROL SERUM: I'm always thoroughly confused about when you should start using anti-aging stuff - I feel like I'm still too young! So I haven't actually used this..

OLAY - 3 POINT TREATMENT CREAM: this is fragrance free (which is always a bonus for my sensitive skin) and feels pretty nice. I've been using it as a night cream, as it's a bit richer than my usual moisturiser.

NAILS INC - NOTTING HILL GATE: first off - cutest tiny little bottle ever! I really didn't expect to like this neon nail varnish, I thought it was a bit too "barbie" for me.. but as soon as I'd painted my nails (with a few coats, mind) I shocked myself by LOVING the colour. It's really brightening up these wintery days.

Do you subscribe to any beauty boxes? What are your thoughts on them?

christmas party outfit #1 // oh my love.

This is the first in a series of Christmas Party outfits, to hopefully give you a little bit of inspiration if you've been invited to a do and have no idea what to wear! It's a simple, laid back look, with a bit of sparkle.

Crown&Glory are a firm favourite among bloggers, and this sweet little bronze bow gives a cute little something to a simple high ponytail. A simple drop hem top & plain black wedges make these sweet leggings from Oh My Love the focus. Glittery gold polka dots AND velvet... perfect for Christmas! Plus, if you're going out for a festive meal, this outfit ensures that you'll be able to eat loads. Gotta love an elasticated waistband.

I've got a sneaky little Oh My Love discount code too - enter "AUTUMN12" at the checkout for 20% off!

my name necklace // fred perry

• TOPSHOP LIPSTICK IN MISCHIEF • CHARITY SHOP TOP • MY NAME NECKLACE

As I'm sure is the case with many girls out there, I've wanted a name necklace since the SATC days.. so when My Name Necklace offered me one to feature on my blog, I couldn't say no! I chose this small Carrie-style necklace with the 45cm length chain, and it's perfect!

I don't wear jewellery very often, but I've worn this almost every day since I received it. It's so delicate and sweet, and goes with pretty much everything. It seems really good quality too, so hopefully it'll last a good while :) it'd make a really nice gift too if you're looking for ideas!

Today I'm wearing it with my lacy charity shop top, my favourite headscarf from Vintage Style Me, and a SUPER cosy Fred Perry cardigan that I bought off my friend Chloé for a mere £10! So warm and snuggly.

I'm off to Devon for the weekend, and I already know the journey is going to be a nightmare! Loads of train services have been replaced with coaches because of the awful weather we've been having! Ugh! It'll be worth it to see my girls and some of my family though!

Are you doing anything nice this weekend?
