home sweet home.

Just some inspiration for decorating our new flat. Unfortunately most of these images are either from tumblr (without a source) or have been saved on my laptop for ages and I've forgotten where I found them :( feel bad for not crediting!

We are decorating on a shoe string, finding stuff in charity shops and recycling centres. But I prefer it that way anyway, that way things have a story. We decided we don't like things matchy-matchy. It's already starting to look pretty colourful and cute!

I'm excited to get all my furniture into my room (hopefully next weekend) and, if my Dad has the skills, I'm going to get him to build me a desk, and maybe even a clever wardrobe type thing. I've measured and drawn out my room so I can plan where I want everything! Geek!

I'm mostly attracted to colour and pattern, as you can see. I love plain walls, busy bits and clever storage. I like everything on display! I don't know, anyway.. here goes.

(I know that the last photo is from Stefany, but apart from that I don't know :( if you know the source of any of these don't hesitate to tell me!)

send you my love.

If you're not already aware of Ella Masters, you bloomin' should be! Not only is she a super sweet person, but she also does the cutest illustrations! She's just put some lovely Valentine's cards in her Etsy shop, so maybe you should go have a peep and perhaps buy one for your loved one(s) ! She's also currently holding a giveaway!!!

pack up.

Just a quick post. I'm so tired from packing yesterday that I'm having to have a little down time today. I've done the washing up, the grocery shopping and taken care of the cats and I just can't find the energy to do anything else...! I wish I wasn't so easily exhausted.

Here are some depressing photographs of the way that I pack... basically completely dismantling my room and putting things in boxes. I think this is going to take longer than I had anticipated!

Going over to the flat for a bit this afternoon. Exciting times!

let's play catch up.

Sorry for the really poor quality video! I'm not sure why it looks worse than usual... Just a little video to get you up to speed on what I've been doing over the past few days... Mostly because I can't be bothered to write it all out! I am aware that there are a few really unattractive angles for me in there, but I'm very tired and I just don't care.

Hope you've all had great weekends.

later potater.

The more I look at this photo the more hilarious I look. I'm not sure what that expression is supposed to be. Anyway just to quickly say, hi I got new coral lipstick which you can probably juuust about see, and bye I'm going to Bristol until Sunday. I'll probably be on Twitter a bit if you miss me!

a little absent.

Hey lovely people, sorry for the lack of blogging right now, I've got other things that I need to worry about - a poorly mother, a house and 3 cats to look after, amongst other things. I'm hopefully going to Bristol on Thursday for a few days as well, so I won't be blogging then either! It all happens at once doesn't it. I'll try to blog something interesting tomorrow but I can't make any promises I'm afraid. Hope you're all well and happy and have sunshine where you are.
Much love,

black cat.

Sorry for the blurry photo, but I hate flash. This is a sneak peek of something mum got me for my birthday. For some reason she decided she wanted to know what I want for my birthday now.. when my birthday isn't until May! Anyway, I suggested this shirt from the sale at Zara, and she got it. Obviously I had to try it on to see if it fits etc, then it's going to be hidden away until the 15th of May!

Also, you may remember my post about the New Look trousers I got off the website after not being able to get the colour/size combo I wanted.. anyway, I went to New Look the other day and found they had the colour and size I wanted originally, so I bought them.

Although they're the same size as the brown, the stone ones feel smaller. I'm unsure whether I should return one of the colours or keep both? I'm not sure I can afford to keep both.

Anyway, what are your opinions on them? (Please excuse any strange faces/poses)

My mum had to stay overnight in the hospital last night for tests and stuff. Now they think she has swine flu and has to stay in for the whole weekend without any visitors :(

Also, I heard today that the singer of Broadcast has died of pneumonia! So sad, they're a great band. Here is one of my favourite songs, mostly because it contains the word "cat":

stronger than me.

Such a cheap outfit this one. The shirt is from a charity shop, it's actually way too big for me and makes me look bigger than I am, but I really like the detail. The brooch is a Christmas present from my Mum that only turned up a few days ago. It's from Frassy. I made the skirt myself, the fabric is awesome - paisley and ducks.

Just a short post, I've gotta run. My mum is sick and I'm not sure what's happening tonight..

what's in my bag?

I thought about doing this tomorrow, but I'm doing it now because I'm procrastinating before I go on a charity shop hunt and flat viewing.

I always like looking at other people's "what's in my bag" posts, so I thought I'd do one too, after talking to Karys about it. She's done one herself, here.

I have two different bags I usually use at the moment. One is a big satchel when I feel like carrying my whole life with me, the other is a much smaller satchel-style bag. Sometimes I just use a tote. I need a new tote. Mine is from Oxfam and I love it but it's really gross and tatty now.

In my big satchel (from a recycling centre, years and years ago) I like to carry everything I might need. I usually have an umbrella as well but I don't know where that is... you never know when it might rain!

I've got: the book I'm currently reading, water, a few bits of make-up and a make-up bag (from Primark), loads of hair grips, lip balm, disposable camera, digital camera, Paperchase notebook & Stabilo pen, phone, UO purse, sunglasses & case (from Motel), chewing gum, lollipop, large-ish mirror, ipod, hello kitty hairbrush, perfume.

This does seem like a lot of stuff, but I'm a girl, and sometimes we just need all this stuff. It doesn't include the receipts and rubbish, why would you want to see that?

This is what I carry when I don't want to lug my life around. This bag was from a charity shop recently for £2. Since I got it I've seen another one for £4.50 and one on a vintage stall for like £18!!! Ridiculous. Same stuff as before, but cut down to what I really need.

I've got: some make-up (17 Shine Control Pressed Power, QVS foundation brush, L'Oréal Touche Magique Concealer, Elizabeth Arden gel eyeliner & brush, 17 Lasting Fix Lipstick in Dreamy - I don't wear lipstick much but this is a really cute pink colour), lollipop, chewing gum, perfume (M&S Autograph Blush), ipod, hairgrips, lip balm, digital camera, phone, purse.

Well, that was terribly interesting wasn't it. You may notice I don't carry keys. I never carry keys. Just the way I roll.

What's in YOUR bag?

forward motion.

Yesterday was a lot sunnier than the above photograph suggests. I like it though, it looks moody. After dressing up as a secretary, my friend Will came over and we decided we should make the most of the sunshine and go and run around on Dartmoor. It was really fun, I always forget how much I love Dartmoor and how beautiful it is. Here are about a million photographs. For some reason the colour has drained out a bit.. they looked a lot better on photoshop. I think the internet ruined them.

I had two of those eggs poached this morning, and they were actually the most perfect eggs ever! So yummy. I made a dog friend at that farm, so friendly, a lovely collie. And then I made another collie friend at this climbing school. She was lovely and had a red neckscarf and leant against my legs really hard and licked my hand.

Thanks so much for all the comments on my trousers yesterday! It was pretty much an overwhelming YES! The only problem now is... I don't know what kind of coat I could wear with them?! Oh it's so hard being me.
