essential.

This time next week, it'll be the final day of Bestival. This morning I've been writing lists trying to work out what I need to take! I've been to a few festivals before, but every year I seem to forget what will be really useful.

What are your festival essentials?

  10. Wellies are an essential, but so are a pair of old trainers for just hanging around outside the tent. I hate hate hate having to put my wellies on first thing in the morning, they just feel so heavy! Old trainers for breakfast and toothbrushing, all the way. Speaking of breakfast, those Varieties kiddy packs of cereal. Pour milk straight into the bag, instant cereal! Breakfast bars just aren't the same.

Weird tip I have that totally works but makes your friends think you're weird: if it's a cold night, get one of those hand warmers that heat up themselves and a foil blanket. Line your sleeping bag with the foil blanket, then put another blanket in (so that you're not actually touching the scratchy foil). Then get the hand warmer going and put it at the bottom of the sleeping bag, touching the foil. The foil conducts the heat around the sleeping bag and it's basically like sleeping in an oven. It's AMAZING.

Also: dry shampoo, face wipes, tissues (doubles up as toilet roll), torch. Don't take valuables, someone once broke into my tent while I was sleeping and took my super snazzy phone. :(

  11. Babywipes! Without fail. You use them to wash, for the toilet, to help get your muddy wellies off, take your makeup off... I'd have been lost at Glasto without them!

Have an amazing time at Bestival! xx

  19. Duct tape all the way. I went camping in Cornwall a couple of a weeks ago, it poured and our tent leaked - it was a lifesaver. Somewhere to hide money/spare purse to keep emergency cash in (got everything stolen at Glasto - nightmare). Wheelbarrow/something with wheels if you're carting a load of booze down to camp, but a kinda rubbishy one so you can ditch it if you cant be bothered to push it back. :)

  20. Spray on Savlon stuff, saved my life on a few occasions I can tell you. Cereal bars are a quick cheap filling food fix (and they can be kept in wellies etc so they can be taken into the arena). I wish I had taken a cheap fleece blanket to sit on at the last festival I went to!

  26. I've never actually been to a festival and I feel I need to but I'm sort of scared of dirt and other people's mess : /
That being said if I went I'd take baby wipes, fabreez, and some sort of hand sanitiser - ha I'm such a loser, alcohol was an afterthought

    xx

  27. I have this thing called a pasta maker which I always bring. It's magical; it cooks all your pasta without needing electricity...only problem is I always end up having so much fun I never use it :/

  28. What everyone else has said, and maybe some fancy dress things, they're always fun to wear :) and definitely hand gel and toilet roll, makes you feel better after using the skanky toilets! xx
