i don't want to stay; i can't bear to leave.

I found some old bracelets I made, the one with buttons is now on my ankle :)

No outfit today, as I'm still in my pyjamas. I think I exhausted myself yesterday with my productivity! Often, people suffering with ME push themselves too far on good days, and end up paying for it for days after, struggling to find the energy to even get out of bed. It's ME awareness week this week, so I'd love it if you could all watch this video that Chloe made me aware of yesterday. It's just a little insight into what it's like to be a sufferer, and there's also a beautiful song that you can buy to help fund research into the condition.

That video makes me so sad to see people suffering, but at the same time positive, as I feel like I've got a lot better over the past couple of years. I hope more people can get better as more research is conducted. And I REALLY hope a lot of you actually bother to watch the video read this writing, as it's an important issue, obviously very close to my heart.

I had such a fun make day yesterday, and I have some more things lined up for when I have the energy and money (hopefully tomorrow!) For now, have a look at some of yesterday's projects: light blue gingham curtains with ribbons and lace ties, high waisted shorts, and falafel! See below for the recipe.

Falafall In Love With Falafel.

Ingredients:

1 can of chickpeas
1 small red onion, finely chopped
4 garlic cloves, grated or put through a garlic press
1 tablespoon parsley
1 tablespoon thyme
1 1/2 teaspoons ground coriander
3/4 teaspoon cumin
salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons of flour
vegetable oil for frying

Method:

Smush up the chickpeas (using a blender or your hands... hands is more fun) and add the garlic, onion, herbs and spices.

Add the flour, mix well and form into little balls (approx 1 1/2 inches... Kayley's balls were way bigger than mine...!)

Shallow fry in oil until they're golden brown!

Original recipe was something Kayley found, but we adapted it to what we had, and I changed the measurements a bit. Therefore it's our recipe.

They pretty quick and easy to make, and SO yummy. I think we're definitely going to make them again :D

Don't forget about my birthday giveaway!

  6. That video was so heart wrenching, and really quite eye-opening to someone who has no real knowledge of ME, at least not before this. I hope more people get to watch it and understand, even if they can't imagine truly what it's like.

Nice to know its awareness week, needs all the awareness it can get as people are still so clueless about it.

  20. I just recently found your blog and watched the video above relating to ME. I can sympathise with your situation as I am currently recovering from cancer and a year of intense chemotherapy - it has made me completely knackered. I find it very frustrating that nobody seems to understand how tiring it is and some days my only achievement is to shower! I guess you never know about it until you're in the situation. This video has been very effective in conveying what the day to day life of an ME sufferer is. I really do hope it helps to raise awareness.

    PS - Sorry for rambling!
